Kolkata: The day before Sasthi, a complaint was submitted in Lalbazar against the organizer of Park Dumdum Bharat Chakra Puja for hurting religious sentiments by decorating a pandal with chappal.
The committee on Sunday said that they did not want to remove shoes even though there were several legal notice reaching them on Sunday.
“We don’t change the pandal or remove anything because fake propaganda is done with political intentions.
We hold a member meeting and we have decided to keep a pandal like that.
We will definitely respond to legal notice if necessary,” said Pratik Chowdhury from Dumdum Park Bharat Chakra.
“We have used chappals or shoes to symbolize the movement of farmers for centuries and not specific certain periods,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kolkata-based Santuu Singha advocate filed a complaint with Lalbazar on Sunday alleged that the pandal was “insult to Hindus”.
“We never entered any temples with shoes,” he said.
Other Advocates Anup Dasgupta has written a letter to the Head of Secretary and the Secretary of the House to take steps in removing chappals.
On Saturday, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has criticized the efforts of Puja organizers.
He urged Puja organizers to be removed by Sasthi.
“If they agree to remove chappals that are welcome.
But if they don’t, we will be forced to spread awareness among people about mistakes.
We may stand in the area and try to convince Puja to Dewi Durga,” said Soursh Mukherjee The media responsible for Vishwa Hindu Parisal in West Bengal.
