Kolkata: The leader of actor-BJP Joy Banerjee on Saturday said he had decided to resign from the party’s main membership, after “facing neglect” in recent years.
Banerjee, who joined BJP in 2014 and was not successfully contested by Lok Sabha’s election twice, also said that he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, told him about his decision to decide all the relationships with the Safron Party.
“I want to work for ordinary people and it’s impossible if I continue to be part of BJP,” he told reporters.
