Lucknow: As part of its strategy to reach another back class (OBC) ahead of the assembly selection of 2022, the Head of BSP Mayawati once again raised a separate census problem for the backward caste.
On Friday he said that if the Government NDA was decided to take the matter, his party would support it fully inside and outside parliament.
“BSP has requested a separate census for OBC and continues to repeat it.
If the central government takes a positive step for this, then BSP will definitely support it,” he tweeted.
A senior party leader said that this problem had come to the front line because of the ongoing parliamentary session, with a 2021 census had not yet occurred.
Various formal and informal discussions have occurred on this problem even in parliament, BSP members said, even though the center was silent in the action plan.
“OBC is an integral part of the BSP social engineering program,” said a member, added that the party had worked on this matter on the ground and the possibility of strengthening its efforts in the coming weeks.
“BSP has been at the forefront of providing representation to OBC since its formation by Kanshi Ram.
This is another problem now that the party must work to bring them back to its folds over the past few years.
What is seen in our ongoing campaign for Sammelan Prabuddha Which is intended for Brahmins but we also work on the ground through our ‘Committee Bhaichara’ to draw OBC back to the party, “said the member.
The source in the party said that ‘Bhaichara Committee’ has worked in every block and the sector to draw with members of all communities but this special focus is OBC and MBCs such as Kahar, Kashyap, Bind, Nishad, PAL, etc.
