HYDERABAD: The phasing from MiG-21 fighter jets, that are involved in many accidents through time, will occur within the next two to three decades, Air chief marshal R S Bhadauria stated on Saturday.
He added this could pave the way to its induction of those 36 Rafale jets by 2022, then the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) will be inserted.
Speaking in the joint graduation parade in the Air Force Academy at Dundigal, Bhadauria stated that mere aging of aircraft does not make them .
“Discontinuation of flying the MiG-21 instantly isn’t the solution.
In the following 2-3 years they’ll be phased out when they reach their life.
Our strategy to induct 36 Rafales is really on goal.
After the Rafales are awakened, the attention is going to be on the induction of this LCA during the subsequent three-and-a-half decades,” Bhaduaria stated.
He added that the nation is focusing on native projects, like the innovative medium battle aircraft (AMCA) such as the IAF and Navy.
“The AMCA will probably be indigenously created by DRDO in cooperation with business.
A decision in this respect was accepted in principle,” he explained.
Furthermore, Airbus 320-based aerial warning aircraft and followup Embraer aircraft will happen,” he explained.
