Panaji: Minister of Science and Technology Michael Lobo on Tuesday said that he was ready to leave BJP if the party did not want it.
He said he would win six of the seven seats in Bardez.
Lobo spoke after meeting the BJP Goa election responsible for Devendra Fadnivis.
“Until now the party hasn’t said that it doesn’t want me.
But if it’s said, then I have to see another party,” Lobo said, adding that he finished 15 years with BJP this December.
He added that if the people would want him the contest from the constituency he had to go there.
“If the Saliga people want me, then I have to go to Saligao.
At Bardez, I will win six of the seven seats.” Calangute Mla said that he had not asked for a Siolim ticket for his wife, but he would compete from the constituency and people Siolim will decide.
Fadnavis held a one-on-one meeting with Minister, MLA, and former MLA to plan a political strategy for the party.
Lobo said that in his opinion the upcoming polls will see a direct battle between BJP and Congress.
“AAM AAM AADMI will make a little impact on several constituencies, such as in Salcete,” he said, adding that the Trinamool Congress would not have an impact on Goa.
“Goans will not accept any political parties that come from outside and do not have a base in Goa,” Lobo said, adding that MGP would win around four seats.
Lobo refused to comment on the possibility of the BJP-MGP alliance.
“I also can’t make comments on the alliance and I can make suggestions about it.
The senior party each will make a decision,” he said.
