Will take Telephone on restarting fish Marketplace: Mapusa civic chief

SALIGAO: Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council Shubhangi Vaigankar is now ensured of carrying a meeting with all the councillors over re-opening of this fish market that is closed because of the curfew.
A delegation of bass sellers led by his president Shashikala Govekar fulfilled the chairperson and asked her to start the fish market because beneath the most recent curfew relaxations, the government has enabled markets to stay open until 3pm.
Govekar as well as other fish sellers told that the chairperson that using Panaji fish marketplace restarting, they wanted re-open the Mapusa fish marketplace because they’ve endured massive losses because of the curfew.
Vaigankar informed the delegation that she’ll hold a meeting with all the collector, both officials and councillors and also figure out strategies to adapt as many sellers from the fish industry.
“The chairperson is now promised us re-opening the fish market as we’re facing hardships to handle our daily livelihood,” explained Govekar.
Replying to a query concerning sellers selling fish in the roadside from Mapusa, Govekar stated that those men weren’t their associates and they shouldn’t be permitted to market the fish away from the industry.
Another fish seller said that time once the marketplace was re-opened, the bass sellers used to sit down in the marketplace after social distancing standards and might urge clients to keep space, and ensured this might be followed now also.
“I shall have a meeting with all the first officer, vice-chairperson Chandrashekhar Benkar, promote manager chairman Viraj Phadke, associates along with also the MMC inspectors,” explained Vaigankar.
