Lucknow: Man-to-Man’s marking, a strategy that is generally used in football or hockey, was adopted by the Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav to fight BJP in assembly elections.
Incidentally, Akhilesh Yadav itself is a known fan of football.
Unlike in sports, the use of strategies in politics may have shortages but can also take the desired results in the election.
While the Bharatiya Party Janata (BJP) has associated in unsatisfied or influential leaders from opposition parties, SP President also managed to bring leaders from other parties, including Congress, BJP and BSP.
Political analyst believes that Akhilesh is working on a two-branch strategy to establish an alliance with small parties with a peaceful chair sharing formula and bring leaders who have their voter base in addition to SP SetyaLank.
The second tactic is the political version of ‘Man-to-Man Marking’ adopted in the field of hockey or football.
Akhilesh has been able to falsify alliances with small parties who have good support in some caste, especially OBC.
Political analyst believes that the idea is to create a combination of caste in such a way that it can throw strong challenges to BJP.
One example is the SP alliance with the former BJP allies and former ministers in the Yogi Aditentalath Government, Om Prakash Rajbhar, who heads Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP).
Experts believe that SP claims to enjoy YADAV and Muslim support, and if Rajbhars also chooses to SP, or vice versa, SP can take advantage of a number of seats.
Similar is the case with an alliance between SP and Rashtriya Lok Dal Chaudhy LED Jayant which can affect results in the western region.
The SP approach to forge alliances with small parties similar to hands joining BJP with the head of the Nishad Party Dr Sanjay Nishad and Apna Dal (s) President Anupriya Patel.
However, the preserved add-on Akhilesh can change the political situation at least 3-4 dozen other seats.
Over the past year, Akhilesh has brought leaders from other parties who have their own vocational base starting at 10,000-25,000.
A senior leader of the Jamajwadi Party said the leader’s election base would function as an addition.
“The crowd that comes to attend akhilesh rally in various parts of the country is a testimony to increase the popularity of SP and how people are fed up with BJP,” he said.
The other SP leader said that for the past year, many political heavy-classes from other parties joined the party when they knew that it was a SP which was in a position to take BJP.
Leading leaders who have joined SP in the past including former member of the congress parliament from Unnao Annu Tandon, former MLA Congress from West Up Pankaj Mallik, and former BSP leader Indrajeet Saroj and Qadir Rana.
According to sources at parties, Ankit Parishar, which was said to be close to the former member of the Congress parliament from Unnao, competing for SP tickets from Unnao Sadar or Bhagwant Nagar.
They added if he followed the election, he could also get support from the reservoir of Votebase and SP sound bank.
Likewise, if the Saroj contest from Kaushambi, the sound of his own can add SP Votebank, the source claims.
Recently, more than a dozen BSP MLA, including the influential leaders of Ramachal Rajbhar and Lalji Varma, have handened hands with Akhilesh.
While SP leaders believe that the support base of these leaders will add the sound of the existing party, experts argue that in politics two plus two are not always four and one must wait for the results instead of jumping the gun.
The strategy also has a flip side.
The ticket aspires in SP are restless because they don’t know who will get tickets – loyal workers or outsiders? Will human-to-human tagging work in akhilesh help? Only time will tell.
