New Delhi: This center will make any possible efforts so that Manipur has benefited from the free trade agreement (FTA) because the country is the gateway to Myanmar and ASEAN countries, said Minister of PIYUSH wobbly.
The minister stated this on Saturday during interaction with the Manipur Industry Agency.
India and 10-Countries ASEAN BLOC applies FTA in January 2010.
In a free trade agreement, two trading partners reduce or eliminate import duties in the maximum amount of goods traded between them.
In addition, they liberalize the norms to increase trade trading and increase investment.
Members of the Southeast Asian Nations Association (ASEAN) are Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei and Laos.
“The Union Minister also assures that his ministry will make every possible effort that is possible so Manipur benefits the full advantage of the free trade agreement because the country is the gateway to Myanmar and ASEAN countries,” said the official statement on Sunday.
Goyal said that many efforts have been carried out and special infrastructure development projects have begun for the promotion of industrial, trade and trade in the region including the Northeast Industrial Development scheme and sanctions on the development and promotion of industrial projects.
He also urged the industrial body to conduct cooperative and start-up businesses to promote industrial and commercial trade and sharing technology and general platforms to optimize the results of efforts.
“Northeast countries will be taken care of to do their own identity and are not in a hurry to Delhi or Kolkata for every problem,” he added.
During the interaction, participating industrial union representatives included the Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indo-Myanmar border traders, all Manipur Entrepreneurs Associations, a group of business excellence, Manipur Power Loom Development Association, Manipur Handloom and Artisan Development Community Craft Entrepreneurs.
They raise problems related to the need for the introduction of transit task systems, reducing visa costs, opening of trade related offices, DGFT, Exim banks, and RBI forex cells on imphal, development of multi capital logistics parks, transportation subsidies for exporting and import traders, up -Grade IMFAL airport with cold storage facilities, and customs offices.
