LONDON: Ashleigh Barty founded the Clash of French Open Winners in the last 16 years Wimbledon after the world numer defeated Katerina Hiakova from the Czech Republic 6-3, 7-5 on Saturday.
Australia’s 25-year-old won French 2019 open and met with the current Paris Barbora Krejcikova champion from the Czech Republic for somewhere in the last eight.
“That’s the right match from the start,” Barty said.
“Other great challenges (Krejcikova) but waiting for them.” He has played a few great things and it will be a new challenge for me because I have never played it before.
“Barty – who has never surpassed the last 16 years at Wimbledon – bid to win his first single Wimbledon title at the 50th anniversary of the fellow Australian Girl ORIGINAL crown Evonne Goolagong Cawley.
