Lucknow: from flights to 25 destinations in 2017 for services for 71 locations, both national and international, in 2021, the aviation sector in Uttar Pradesh has continued to spread its wings.

About the upcoming Ayodhya International Airport, which has been named Maryada Purusottam Shriram Airport, the compilation report says that in the first phase, it will be available for A-321 aircraft and will be upgraded for type B-777-300 aircraft operations in the second phase.
A total of 600.97 acres of land will be needed for the parent plan where around RS 1,001 Crore has been released by the state government.
Of the total land, around 296 acre land has been purchased.
Likewise, working at the Jewar airport is also expected to begin soon.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the airport foundation plate in August.
The work in the first phase is likely to be completed in three years after that the airport will be able to serve 12 million passengers every year.
The capacity will increase to 70 million passengers per year in 2040-2050.
The state government has given the principle approval to increase the number of runways to 4-6 from the previous proposal of two runways.
About 1365 hectares of land will be obtained for this purpose.
Of the total Rs 2,890.7 Crore, RS 1,084 Crore was released for land acquisition.
Working at Kushinagar International Airport has been completed and the facilities are ready to operate.
The source said the airport will be dedicated to people in the next two months.
The compilation report said that in 2017, flights for eight national and seven international goals operated from Lucknow.
On March 31, 2021, Lucknow has flights for 14 national international destinations and 7.
In Varanasi, flights are available for one international and seven national destinations that have reached 15 national and five international flights.
In 2017, only one flight was available from Gorakhpur (to Delhi).
At present, this airport offers flights for eight destinations.
Similarly, flights from Agra have increased from one to five destinations since 2017.
Prayagraj has flights for 11 Destinations, Kanpur City has three, while Hindon and Bareilly have two and one flight.
Overall, flights are available for 59 international and 12 international destinations from eight airports up.
