Gurugram: City air deteriorates on Friday, with the air quality index (AQI) recorded in the ‘poor’ category with 262 readings.
A week ago, it was in the ‘moderate’ category.
According to IMD, the direction of the wind will remain north until November 1.
As a result, it is possible that AQI will reach the ‘very poor’ category.
The minimum temperature is likely to drop to 14 to 15 degrees Celsius with an increase in moisture, which is not profitable for dispersion of pollutants.
This is expected to further contribute to the decline of air quality.
Although the multi-storey response action plan (GRAP) has been held in Gurugram, the incident of burning waste is still reported in the city.
Residents from several regions have shown that they have observed rampant combustion in the open, which has led to an increase in pollutant levels.
“There was a fire in sector 84 on Wednesday and more rubbish was burned in the same place on Friday.
There are many waste here, but the authority of the citizenship does not take any action.
Waste needs to be managed by scientifically to overcome this situation,” said Ruchika Setri , founder of citizens for clean air, group of residents.
Haryana state pollution control board (HSPCB) said they had received complaints of open waste, which had been forwarded to the MCG sanitation inspector to conduct examinations and punish people who burn waste.
“We are very monitoring trash combustion hotspots.
We take help from MCG in dealing with this problem,” said a senior HSPCB official.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality deteriorates a little on Friday but is likely to deteriorate on Saturday.
Fire count in neighboring countries rose from 502 on Thursday to 1,112 on Friday, according to the air quality system and weather forecasting and research (Safar), forecasting under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
The stump burned to PM2.5 Delhi rose to 20%, the highest so far this season.
The overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 283 on Friday, compared to 268 on Thursday.
Agricultural fires are increasing, low temperatures and calm winds at night mainly affect air quality.

According to Safar, the highest agricultural fire (1,572) was recorded this season on October 15.
The number of agricultural fires crossed 1,500 on October 22 but remained under 1,000 since October 23.
The whole AQI of the highest season was recorded on 298 October 17.
