Gurgaon: The Country Pollution Control Board Haryana (HSPCB) on Thursday said it has prepared a draft winter action plan and is likely to issue a set of instructions on steps that must be taken for combustion prevention and air combustion mitigation in front of the winter to all districts on Sunday front.
Every year, air pollution rates in and around Delhi and adjacent areas rose in October, November and December left residents in the national capital area choking.
On Thursday, Narayana, Secretary, HSPCB, said, “We are very planning to prevent plant residues that burn and hold frequent meetings with stakeholder departments at the state level.” The pollution control board, officials, has prepared a draft plan of the winter action, which will be discussed with the Chair of the Air Quality Management Commission in the NCR and the Area side by side on September 14.
HSPCB has also issued general instructions for all deputy commissioners for the necessary actions during the upcoming harvest season.
“The State Agriculture Department coordinates most of the problems.
However, we held a meeting on September 14 with the Chairman of the Air Quality Management Commission in NCR and regions side by side, Secretary of the Head of Harmana and other senior officials.
At the meeting, we have proposed to discuss steps -The step that must be taken to prevent burning plant residues and for prevention of air pollution in the upcoming winter.
More steps about the winter action plan will be taken afterwards, “Narayana said.
The September 14 meeting will also see discussions about the status of implementation of steps related to the prevention and control of biomass combustion, including residues and plant waste, in addition to the steps to prevent and control dust and other emissions.
Steps to prevent and control air pollution from construction and disassembly activities, prevention, control and mitigation of vehicle emissions in the region will also be discussed, officials said.
Haryana will also declare its strategy on the improvement of landfill location, prevention of construction disposal and demolition (C & D) waste in government land, the appointment of the final product of the C & D waste treatment plant, preparation for C & D waste repositories for handling.
Also, the road map to ensure the burning of zero city waste and the transfer of traffic that is not destined to the East Peripheral (EPE) and Western Peripheral Express (WPE), dust reduction and safe disposal, road maintenance to reduce traffic congestion and dust will also be discussed.
