Wisery water IRKS Calangute residents

CALANGUTE: Residents in several regions of Calangute have been shaken under lack of water for almost a month.
They said that they had to go without water during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The affected population has recently met the Port minister of Michael Lobo, after speaking to PWD officials, it has convinced them that the supply will be restored as a replaceable pipe.
“But there is still no water,” said the locals.
Calangute Panchayat said they provided water through tankers to villagers affected by installing in situations until the pipeline network was replaced.
PWD has begun to replace old pipes in several regions after contaminated water supply due to mud seepage and waste to the corrosioned pipeline.
To avoid discomfort for people, pipes are replaced in phases.
Some water pipes have also been damaged after the Calangute road sank in many places because of heavy rain.
