Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad City on Thursday added 1,835 new covid cases – the highest in the last 233 days.
With Debit 541 patients, active cases jumped up to 7,027.
Daily case analysis revealed that the city recorded 5,000 cases in the last four days between January 3 and January 6 had taken seven months to register 5,000 previous cases, showing a very rapid daily case increase since the beginning of January.
On Thursday, the city contributed 43% of the total daily case of the country.
From 25 to 31 December, no Gujarat Regency is above 5% of the weekly test level (TPR).
Ahmedabad at 3.5% was the highest followed by 1.8% in Vadodara.
Within five days, the weekly TPR Ahmedabad (from 30 January, January 5) jumped up to 11.5%, according to the Union of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Anand District (4.6%) was second and Bharuch (4.5%) was in third position Gujarat in terms of weekly TPR.
Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA) revealed that there were less than 100 patients under hospitalization where 70 was under isolation and did not require drugs or great care.
Experts say that it must be seen as a positive impact on vaccination, even when the number of people who are fully vaccinated by positive testing has increased in recent days.
Experts point to very low severity and mortality even when the overall number of cases increases.
Among other cities, letters almost doubled the daily calculation of 610 to 1,105, became the second city after Ahmedabad crossed 1,000 daily cases in the current wave.
Vadodara recorded a decrease in cases from 150 to 103, while Rajkot recorded a 30% increase from 141 to 183.
Gujarat did not record a new case from the omicron variant in the last 24 hours.
On Thursday, Gujarat had a total of 204 and 53 active cases.
