New Delhi: Above Two Lakh Icu Beds, with 50% of them were assisted by a ventilator, being intended for Covid-19 patients as the government prepared a surge in infection in the festival season, officials said.
About 40,000 additional beds with ventilators in the ICU are added as part of a large-scale augmentation of Covid health infrastructure throughout the country.
“Every district hospital will get at least five more ventilators.
Many districts have begun to get delivery,” said a senior official to Ti.
The center also conducts skills development programs to ensure more health workers and technicians are trained to operate the ICU bed assisted by a ventilator.
“The problem is not focused on the availability of ventilators.
With local manufacturing ventilators, supply problems have been handled but even when we get more ventilators, human resource management and training are very important,” the official said.
Readiness is based on estimates of a previous surge.
The government calculates to take care of 23% of those infected based on the second wave study and remember the high Delta viral virus, officials said.
