Vadodara: The 100% solving record in the HSC general stream is expected to provide great pressure on the Faculty of Trade MKS University M, the biggest faculty in terms of student strength at the university.
The faculty currently has 7,800 students in Bachelor of Trade (BCK) of the first year and can stretch themselves to accommodate 9,000 students if someone develops infrastructure today from the four units of the Faculty of Trade and Infrastructure available at the MK Amin College in Padra.
However, this year, 16,292 students have cleared their 12th grade in general in Vadodara.
Students from outside Vadodara, including other districts in Gujarat also apply to entry in the faculty.
MSU is exploring the possibility of utilizing other faculty buildings to accommodate more students in BCOM.
“Universities are exploring the possibility of utilizing other faculty buildings in certain slots so that more students can be accommodated.
We believe, we will be able to manage between 11,000 and 12,000 students,” said the Faculty of Dean Professor Ketan Upadhyay.
Officials believe that the rush of applicants from outside Vadodara may be fewer this year because of the covid-19-induced pandemic and the fact that the hostel has opened in a way that is limited to graduate students.
The University provides entrance tickets to Padra College to students from outside Vadodara who do not want to enter in a higher payment category in Vadodara.
The number of such students might see a decline.
