Bhubaneswar: For the first time in months, the government has a relaxed norm for a festival.
On Saturday, Nuakhai will be celebrated at West Odisha.
Last year, the agrarian festival, was a very low affair because the country was shaken under the second wave of pandemic in September.
This year, there are no religious or cultural meetings permitted.
But there is no limit on people who regulate rituals and parties in their homes.
At present, the pioneering level of test (TPR) in all West Odisha districts is below 1%.
Although, Nabada is considered the second wave center because of its proximity to Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, the TPR Regency is at 0.17%.
It has seven active cases until Friday, the lowest in the state.
The shops are truly open to Nuakhai and people shop with their hearts.
“The atmosphere of Nuakhai is far better this year,” said Collector (Nuabada) Swadha Dev Singh.
On Friday, 745 samples were tested positively from 66,106 tested in the state.
The western district jointly reported only 48 new infections from 745.
Four districts – Balalangir, Boudh, Ladies and Jharsuguda – did not report one case.
Balalangir, Ladydom, Subarnapur and Nabanada on many days have not reported any case.
ID is able to achieve even now.
The West Odisha district witnessed a surge between August and November in the first wave that affected the celebration of Nuakhai and Durga Puja.
This year, the Balalanir district has tested 2,400 samples every day but only two to three cases returned positively.
About 60% of the test is being carried out through cellular facilities because the team is still parked at the Vantage location to collect swab samples.
Now, most urban centers in Western districts and rural pockets watch the Nile case.
Kolektor (Sambalpur) Subham Saxena said the Nuakhai celebration was more alive this time because people came out of shopping because there was no limit to the market opening.
“Because the number of minuscule new infections is reported, there is no fear among people.
However, the right Covid behavior is being confirmed in the market by regulating the crowd,” he said.
Khurda on Friday added 297 new cases while Bhubaneswar added 288 new infections to 171 recovery.
The number of active cases has been lost again up to 3,332 in Bhubaneswar while there are 7, 078 active cases in the state.
