Rahul Mehrotra taught urban design and planning at Harvard University.
Speaking to Srijana Mitra Das at the time of awakening, he discussed how climate change would affect the architecture and ongoing planning:
What is the climate change architecture?
Very.
Today, even the most advanced countries are not avoided by nature.
It’s like a pandemic – it doesn’t know the political restrictions.
Climate change also will not recognize rich countries from poor.
And it will change the architecture globally.
Until now, architecture is operated as an autonomous subject.
It’s often liked by context.
In many situations, it’s a problem, it’s not a solution.
Architectural solutions have become easy universal, forgetting context.
But with climate change, the context is very important.
