Gurgaon: More than 663 hectares of land owned by Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) are under encroachment in Gurgaon, where nearly 466 hectares are under litigation in various courts, according to the state government data, shared in the state assembly in the day Wednesday.
Getting rid of land under litigation, HSVP tried to clean up encroachment from 197 hectares left in Gurgaon in an effort to monetize the land bank.
Reeling from the financial crisis, HSVP has tried to regain land, but encroachment has emerged as a big problem.
Only in the last three days, HSVP cleared 12 hectares of land from encroachment in sector 52.
On Tuesday, three hectares of land were dropped after Razing 60 ‘Jhuggies’, 35 mechanical stores and 30 building material stores.
In most places, people, who took compensation for the land, continued to hold ownership, established ‘Jhuggies’ and small commercial companies and produced large monthly rentals.
The state government said that the authority would be responsible if there was land owned by him spent.
HSVP officials claimed to have identified their unplanned soil.
They are now carrying out sustainable anti-encroachment drives in various parts of the city and cleanse some of the main hectares of land along the golf path.
“We have drives encroachment almost every day for the past three months,” said Junior Engineer Sandeep Lot, added that the drive would continue.
Drive urgently due to debt installation on HSVP.
Authority, currently struggling to pay staff salaries, has taken a big loan and now pays Rs 100 Crore per month as interest.
Responding to RTI query, HSVP previously said that it had taken RS 13890 Crore as a loan, Rs 2,390 Crore from DTCP and Rs 11,500 Crore from the Bank.
Now, the number of loans from the bank has increased to Rs 14250 Crore.
Authority has taken loans from SBI, HDFC, Allahabad Bank, Corporation Bank, PNB, Bank of India, Canara Bank and UBI with interest rates 8.05-8.30%.
