CHANDIGARH: May was a brutal month to the city.
Coronavirus disease killed 275 inhabitants in these 31 days, accounting for 34 percent of the death toll of 804 — among the greatest as the pandemic started.
The virus has promised 484 lives as the beginning of this calendar year, with 57 percent of those deaths reported in May alone.
In 2020, Covid had murdered 318 individuals.
Public health specialists said since the instances went upward, the death count improved.

“Since the amount of cases was higher than the initial tide, the deaths have been the same.
But, we watched deaths among middle-aged and younger folks.
This past year, the majority of the victims were older,” said the other specialist.
The town contains 61,358 confirmed cases as of Friday, and 1.3percent of those patients had perished, based on statistics from the UT administration.
