New Delhi: After receiving a lukewarm response from private bidder to operate letters / trains, Indian trains have begun to rework contract documents for their ambition projects.
The ministry is evaluating bids from only two companies, which includes train PSU, which has sent a tender for two of 12 hubs.
While the source said the offer can be canceled, the final decision has not been taken.
Although the train claimed last year had received an extraordinary response to the proposal to run 151 private trains from 12 hubs, ultimately only received two offers.
IRCTC and MEGHA ENGINEERING AND INFRASTRUCTURE LTD (MEIL) has made offers for train operations in the Mumbai and Delhi sectors.
If there has been no bid from the IRCTC, the tender process must be canceled, said the source.
‘The BIZ model is being reworked to attract more sources of PVP players to say the new Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has asked his official to find out the provisions that prevent personal offerings.
On whether the train can cancel the tender, officials say now until the tender committee to receive the last call.
The source also said the business model to run this train was being reworked now to attract more private players.
Changes that are being considered include reducing the lease period, revise revenue sharing and Uulage costs.
The train ministry can also relax norms to procure the stock revision schedule and fees.
Under this scheme, private players will get their trains and will be free to improve the cost for this train.
The train has identified 109 high request routes throughout the country to run 151 private trains for a 35-year contract period.
It has stated that existing passenger train services will not be affected by the operation of train services through PPP mode and this will be an addition to existing train services.
