Mumbai: With a surge in Covid-19 detection in the past few days, the city is back among the top five districts in the state on active case parameters.
Covid cases in Mumbai have stabilized between 200 and 300 in the first three weeks of August, making the city accident to the seventh rank.
Now, the country’s weekly participants have also reported an increase: 2.71% in the week ended September 4 against 2.58% during the last week of August.
“There is little increase in active cases in the state in the last 10 days,” said the Head of the Ministry of Health’s Main Secretary, Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, in a presentation at Majha Doctor – a virtual medical conference in Covid-19 Management in the country.
The data presented at the meeting shows that the top five districts contribute almost 72% of the total active case of the country.
Pune accounts for almost 30% of the burden, followed by Thane (14%), Satara (12%), Ahmednagar (10%), and Mumbai (8%).
The Chairperson of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray, who overcame the conference, once again appealed to the public and political parties to avoid crowding or any activity at risk at risk.
“We have added health infrastructure but there are limitations for the production of oxygen and availability,” Thackeray said.
“Even today, we use 150 metric tons every day for non-covid patients and 200 metric tons for covid patients,” he said.
He criticized the opposition who had held agitation that was seeking the reopening of places of worship.
“There are some people we want to reopen everything …
Temple.
But, we don’t want to be in a situation where everything has to be turned off once again.
Let’s remember that we don’t put people’s lives in our politics,” CM said.
Eight districts in the state have reported higher levels of weekly rather than the country’s average.
This is Pune, Ahmednagar, Satara, Sangli, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Osmanabad, and Nashik.
“This is a concern district.
Also, the ganpati festival is celebrated in a big way in these districts and so we need to be in our guards,” Vyas said.
He said there was a decline in testing in several districts.
“Testing needs to be improved.”
