Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh reached another milestone from 22 Crore Vaccinations on Wednesday by providing the fastest dose of one crore in just five days.
According to data available on the Cowin Portal, 22.03 Crore doses have been managed above which includes more than 20.1 lakh vaccination on Wednesday.
Health officials said that the 21-crore dose sign was reached on January 7 which meant that more than one dose of crore was given in just five days.
Nationally, the closest competitor to Uttar Pradesh is Maharashtra where 14.15 Crore doses have been given so far, followed by West Bengal (11.2 Crore), Madhya Pradesh (10.64 Crore) and Bihar (10.56 Crore).
Lucknow was at the peak with 64.5 doses of lakh followed by Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Kanpur Nagar with each more than 50 lakh doses.
At least 13.82 crore people have taken the first dose of the vaccine while 8.18 Crore has taken both.
Considering adult populations that meet the requirements of 14.74 crores, numbers speak for almost 95% and 56% coverage in both categories.
Officials said vaccination for teenagers in the age group 15-18 years was running full.
At least 38.12 lakh of a total of 1.4 crore teenagers who fulfill the requirements have received their first dose.
