Woman SC pradhan at Mahoba alleges harassment in Match, prime accused held

Jhansi: A recently elected Scheduled Caste (SC) lady village pradhan at Uttar Pradesh has alleged that she had been mistreated, forcefully evicted from her seat and forced to sit down on the ground by some neighborhood influential men throughout her maiden meeting with all the officers from Mahoba district Wednesday.
An initial information report (FIR) under strict sections was registered the identical day along with also the prime accused was detained.
The incident was reported in Nathupura village under Kotwali police station authority, by which a 25-year-old SC girl, Savita Devi Ahirwar, has been chosen as gram pradhan from the recently concluded panchayat surveys.
According to reports, she had been carrying a meeting by officials at the Panchayat Bhawan on Wednesday at the existence of helper development officer (ADO) Panchayat and block development officer (BDO) after several influential men of town, such as a single Ramu Rajpoot, achieved there and began abusing her.
Speaking to TOI on Saturday, Savita alleged,”I had been having my very first meeting with the officers once Ramu, Rupendra, Arjun, Ravindra and six unidentified men entered the area.
Seconds before the accused entered the area, I had been engaged in an internet dialog with DM Mahoba, Satyendra Kumar.” “Ramu shortly started calling me and requested me to follow his own directions rather than increasing the issues of their villagers.
As soon as I refused to oblige, Ramu caught me by my hands and began with a casteist slur against mepersonally.
Then he forced me to leave the seat and sit on the ground,” Savita alleged.
Nevertheless, in the FIR lodged by Savita, it’s just mentioned that she had been made to leave her seat by the accused, who first caught her hand and hurled casteist abuses.
According to added SP Mahoba, RK Gautam, a situation was lodged against Ramu Rajpoot along with his partners under sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (deliberate insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of both IPC and part of SC/ST Act.
“We’ve detained the very first accused, Ramu, and delivered him to prison.
Authorities are attempting to detain another accused.
I’ve requested the CO City to look into the subject in detail and then publish a document,” he added.
