Varanasi: Five people, including a woman and her two sons, were killed and six others were injured as old houses surrendered on Thursday night in the city of Jaunpur Regency.
Wounded people have been hospitalized for care.
According to reports, the two-storey dilapidated two house, where the Jamaluddin and Kamrudin family lived, fainted near the Badi Mosque at Roxa Ajran.
Members of their family and the neighbor of Ajimullah were buried under the rubble.
The police reached there after getting information and starting the rescue operation.
Manish Kumar District Judge Verma and SP Ajay Kumar Sahni also visited the site to take stock situation.
Five people – Sanjida (37), Mohammad Kaif (8), Mohammad Saif (6), Miswah (18), and Ajimullah (68) – declared dead in the hospital.
People who were injured, including Chandani, Shanno, Gayasuddin, Hera, Sohna and Mohammad Sauddin were treated at the District Hospital for care.
