New Delhi: A 30-year-old woman and four children died after allegedly inhaled toxic smoke from ‘Gelithi’ (stove) stored in their room in the area of ​​Seilapuri Shahdara on Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, PCR’s call was received at around 1:30 a.m.
about four to five people who lay unconscious in a room on the fifth floor of a house in Tabapuri’s old house.
After reaching there, the woman and three children were found dead while the fourth and the youngest were taken to the hospital but were declared dead by a doctor, a senior police officer said.
During the investigation, it was found that one Mohit Kalaia (35) along with his wife Radha and four children – two daughters and two sons – living in rented accommodation, he said.
The flat belongs to Amarpal Singh (60), a resident of Shalimar Garden, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram said.
Introductory investigations show that they all died of weakness because the stove stored in the room was due to colds because small rooms did not have ventilation, police said.
However, the actual cause of death can only be known after post-mortem, he added.
