Palanpur: A woman died after jumping into a canal along with four daughters, two of which also sank, in the Banskantha Gujarat district on Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred in Chotha Nesda Village in Tharad Taluka and the woman had been identified as Parmar Valiben (29), said an official.
“He jumped into a Canal of Narmada along with his four daughters.
Women and his two daughters, in the age group 3-6, died, while the other two were saved by people who passed.
The reason for taking this extreme step was being confirmed,” said the officials of the Tharad Police Office.
