Jaipur: A 28-year-old married woman who has “married run” with Paramour to Srinagar four years ago has accused him of being forcibly converted to Islam and tortured by him, officials said Monday.
The woman, who returned to Jaipur recently, also alleged that when he went to report this problem for the Pratap of the Nagar Police Station last week, Sho Sreemohan Meena did not submit a case.
A pine finally registered on Saturday night after the court intervention, he said.
When this problem was revealed, Police Commissioner Jaipur Anand Srivastava moved Meena and sent three teams to Srinagar, Delhi and Bharatpur in seeking defendants, police officials said.
“The woman lived with her husband and a small child in Pratap Nagar where he had come to accuse Shahid four years ago.
He developed a prohibited relationship with him and marrying his son.
He also took his son,” said a senior police officer.
Shahid comes from Umedabad in Srinagar and some relatives live in Bharatpur while his brother works in Delhi.
He regularly visits them.
From Jaipur, Shahid and the woman allegedly went to Umedabad and began living as husband and wife, the officer said.
“The woman alleged that he was converted to Islam and his name changed.
His son’s name also changed.
They were forced to practice Islam.
After some time, the defendant began to torture him.
He returned to Jaipur sometimes returned and approached the police,” the officer said.
FIR is registered in the relevant section of the Criminal Code and the probe is underway, he said.
