Mumbai: Anti-narcotics cell (ANC) from Mumbai Police arrested a 53-year-old woman supplier of medicines and confiscated 7.2 kg heroin worth Rs 21.70 Crore from his ownership in the area of Sion Koliwada, an official said on Wednesday.
The ANC Dethuths caught alleged drug suppliers, identified as Amina Hamza Shaikh alias Lali, a resident of Suburban Mankhud on Tuesday night, he said.
The confiscated heroin was intended to be distributed to the supplier of other drugs operating in Mumbai and to Lali customers, the official said, adding ANC had launched a search for NAB Lali’s contact.
Lati was previously captured by the Worli and Ghatkopar unit from ANC because of alleged role in supplying illegal drugs in 2015 and 2018, he said.
“Officials Unit Ghatkopar ANC acted on specific information that Lali smuggled a large number of heroin after the trap was placed in Zion Koliwada and he was arrested with drugs,” DCP (ANC) Datta Nalawade said.
A pine is listed under section 8 (c) and 21 (c) from narcotics and psychotropic drugs Act (NDPS), he said.
The defendant told the police that he had bought drugs from two smugglers from Naugama Village in Rajasthan.
