Noida / Ghaziabad: A 30-year-old woman, who returned to Ghaziabad from Germany, who was one of the “risky” countries, was tested positive Covid nine days after his arrival on Tuesday, said health officials.
He is the sixth person with a history of international travel to test positive in the district.
In neighboring GB Nagar, a doctor was among the five new cases reported on the day.
According to Ghaziabad Health Officer, the woman, who works in a science company, has taken two doses of Astra Zeneca and Asimptomatic vaccines.
“He is in house isolation now while the sample is sent for genome sequencing.
Three other members of his family will also be tested for Covid,” said Dr RK Gupta District Supervision Officer.
The Ministry of Health, said Dr.
Gupta, plans to increase his cellphone testing team.
At present, static booths are present at government hospitals and urban primary health centers, while transit camps have been established at the train station, buses and airports.
The department, he added, also planned to send Covid cellular testing booth, installed on e-rickshaws, to various regions throughout the city.
“This cellular team will be sent to the area where Covid patients are found.
Initially, 10 teams will become representatives,” he added.
As many as 39 cases have been reported in Ghaziabad this month, including 23 still undergoing treatment.
Of the five people found positive Covid on GB Nagar, three symptomatic and had come to the OPD of a government hospital, officials said.
Meanwhile, two people with the history of traveling to England and Singapore, who had been tested positively before, were sent home from the Noida Covid Hospital.
There are 27 active cases in this district, while 65 cases have been reported this month, so far.
