Begusarai: A woman and her three-year-old daughter feared to sink when their ship was reversed in the swollen Ganges in Chamtha diari under the district block Begal on Wednesday.
A team of SDRF issued Shivani Kumari’s body while efforts to track the woman identified as Pratima Devi Village Gopalpur Chamtha Panchayat.
Begusarai DM Arvind Kumar Verma said as many as eight people were on the destined ship.
“While the woman and her daughter sank, the remaining people swim to a safe or saved place by the local community,” he said.
The source said those who were on board went to the nearest local market to buy some important household items because their village was flooded with flooding.
