Coimbatore: A 25-year-old woman, her lover and four small boys were arrested on Monday for trying to kill her husband at Nesavalalar Colony near the ondipudur here on Sunday night.
The police said the Soundarya, wife of 29-year-old M Singh Singh, experienced a dark connection with his former colleague M Gunasekar, 23, from NeeLikonampalayam.
A daily wage worker, Singh married Soundarya six years ago and they have two children together.
A police officer said Soundarya had been friends with Gunasekar at ESI Hospital, where he worked as a sanitation worker based on a contract.
“While Gunasekar left his work in the hospital, both of them had extra marriage affairs for the past two months.
When her husband knew about their relationship, he often fought with him.” Unable to bear his torment, Sailarya on July 23, filed a complaint with All-Woman police (east.

The police then calmed the couple.
But when Singh continued to torture him, Soundaya hatched conspiracies with Gunasekar to resolve her husband.
“He took his lover, his younger brother, a child, and three of their little friends to his house at around 11:30 a.m.
on Sundays when his husband fell asleep.
Gunasekar and small children stabbed Singh in his neck and face and left home when he began to cry for help.
Departing without another choice, Soundarya took him to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital in early morning, “the officer said.
Sailarya told the doctor that her husband, who was unconscious, was attacked by unknown people who entered their homes.
“When Singh realized again, he told the doctors that his wife, along with his lover and four others, tried to kill him,” the officer said.
The CMCH authorities immediately told the police Sahanalllur, who captured the Soundarya, Gunasekar and four small boys on Monday itself because they tried to kill Singh.
The small children were put forward at the observation house for teenagers at Junction Mills Lakshmi, while the soundary was submitted in a special prison for women in Coimbatore.
Gunasekar was submitted in a sub-prison pollachi.
