Madurai: A Madurai woman transferred her cooking skills by making 134 plates in just half an hour and registering her name in the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records.
Indira Ravichandran, 41 of Thirtumangalam, on Monday, breaking the record of a 17-year-old Kerala boy, who has prepared 172 plates in one hour.
Ravichandran, who lives in Visakhapatnam with his family, is a housewife and her husband is a naval officer.
He said that he had talent to cook and could cook a lot of food in a few minutes.
“My husband encouraged me to try to make a record with my talent.
I started practicing from June 10,” he said.
He told Indian notebook officials about a month ago and they fix the date for August 23.
Because Thirumbalam was his origin, he decided to do it here.
The record for cooking is mostly dishes in a fewer times set by Kerala boy.
“I hope to cook 86 dishes in half an hour, which will help me break this record and finally make it almost doubled from it,” he said.
According to the notebook rules, only cooking must be done during a certain time and all preparations including cutting can be done in advance.
Cooked items include 16 cupcakes varieties, 15 types of idlies, 15 cozhukattais, chicken biryani, sambar, various pakodas, fish curry, chutneys and RAITAS.
Then he returned around 16 types of Lassies, Masala Sin, Podi Sin, egg sin and others.
He started at 10:25 a.m.
and finished 134 plates at 10:55 a.m.
Material costs reach around Rs 15,000.
Cooking is done with the help of three gas stoves and ovens.
