Ahmedabad: A 38-year-old Sola, who was allegedly tortured for dowry since the second day of his marriage, finally filed a complaint against her husband and her in-laws after they were reportedly driving away from home.
He accused them of harassing him because of dowry for the past 11 years.
In his complaint, he said that he had married a computer software engineer in November 2009.
“When my father left us immediately after my birth, my relatives raised money to do a wedding.
I moved to the house in Ghatlodia and my in-laws began to harass me because did not make a dowry from the second day of my marriage, “he told the police.
The complaint stated that they sent him back to his mother’s house in Vadodara only 20 days after marriage to get a dowry.
He told the police, “My mother sold her gold ornaments and provided cash in RS 2 lakh, television, refrigerator and other items as a dowry.
However, harassment continued a few days later.
In 2011, I was forced to return to Vadodara.
But then , my father-in-law came there and we compiled a compromise.
“He added,” however, did not stop.
In 2016, I consumed the phenyl but survived.
My husband and I began to live separately in a house purchased in Sola.
Then, he transferred him To his mother’s name.
“He said that two months ago, he underwent surgery at a hospital in Bopal but his in-laws refused to pay the amount of Rs 40,000.
“My mother paid the money.
When I returned home, my father-in-law began to harass me again and drive me out of the house.
Meanwhile, my husband moved with his parents.
After this, I approached the police.”
