Chennai: Actor Arya on Tuesday appeared before Wing Cybercrime City Police Chennai after the police called him based on a complaint submitted by a Sri Lankan woman who accused that he had deceived him from Rs 70 Lakh.
He also accused that the actor promised to marry him.
Vidja, a Sri Layan settled in Germany, had written to PMO and the president that the actor had received Rs 70.40 lakh from him who stated that he struggled financially because of the kuncian.
He moved to court to register a case against him.
Arya came to the commissioner office around 7pm and appeared before the Cybercrime Wing Inspector Geetha.
The interrogation lasts for about three hours.
A police officer said they had not registered a case.
“This is a formal investigation for recording statements based on women’s complaints”.
Arya married Sayyeshaa Saigal, and the couple had children.
