Vadodara: Minister of Micro, Small and Medium, Small and Medium (MSME) Narayan Rane said on Monday that employment opportunities in the MSME sector would increase to Gujarat.
He said that the Ministry of MSMEs tried to double the work opportunities in the sector in the next few years.
“At present, around 58 lakh employed in the MSME sector in Gujarat.
We plan to take the number to 1.20 Crore in the next two years,” Rane, who was in the state to inaugurate the Board of Sword in Kevadia in Narmada, to Ti .
The minister said that the sword industry sustained more than seven lakh workers, most of whom were women.
“Even though it has a longer coastline than Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra, the industrial manufacturing sword is lacking in Gujarat.

In Gujarat, the Ministry of the MSMEs had sanctioned two SFurti clusters with RS 4.72 Crores project expenditure – Samavedana Coir Cluster and Tarapur Coir Cluster.
