PATIALA: Patiala MP Preneet Kaur on Thursday wrote to Jaisanhankar Foreign Minister, enhancing the problem of increasing the number of wedding fraud cases for the purpose of getting a Canadian homework.
He urged the ministry of external affairs to work with the Canadian government to solve the “wedding fraud crisis”.
In his letter to the minister, he also searched for a commission to assess the scale of fraud in India.
Kaur also urged the ministry to develop a method to investigate such cases and recommend building a mechanism for deporting people who deceive innocent citizens.
Underpointing his concern for the explosive crisis, especially after applicable economic conditions forcing people to move to foreign countries to seek education or work or with their families, Patiala MP said “the attraction of permanent residence in Canada has facilitated some greedy people to use citizens India is innocent and deceives them a large amount of money through wedding contracts and wedding frauds “.
