New Delhi: A 40-year-old man was found dead beside the railroad near Badli Underpass Village in Outer Delhi on Tuesday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Kaushar, a worker from Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, they said.
On Monday night, a quick train allegedly hit the victim when he tried to cross the track, the police said, added that it seemed to be an accident.
The victim’s destroyed cellphone also recovered from the place, they said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Brijendra Kumar Yadav said PCR’s call was accepted at the police station Samaypur Badli around 9am about the body lying on the railway line.
Police personnel along with the crime team and forensic experts reached the place, he said.
“Prima Facie was observed that the injury on the right side of the victim’s right skull and thigh came as a result of the impact after being hit by a moving train.
It seems to be an accident and process under the part 174 CRPC.
It has begun,” Yadav said.
Workers survived by his wife and four children, including two girls.
His wife worked as a domestic aid, police said, added that the body would be handed over to the family after post-mortem.
