Ahmedabad: After the incident a sanitation worker was made to enter a hole without protective equipment in Chandkheda, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Saturday finishing the contractor in question RS 25,000 and issued a notification of performances to the company.
The incident took place on Wednesday.

A contract worker was made to ride the GOT hole on Wednesday night on the opposite road with the residency of Tulsi in Chandkheda.
A video recorded by Manav member Garima Trust, an organization that works for the rights of sanitation workers in this country shows some workers who stand near the Got Hole when one worker is made to enter.
Videos show that workers, wear shorts and vests, do not have safety equipment other than the harness attached to the rope.
AMC has claimed that Manhole is above the storm waterways and not sewers.
The video shows that the worker is really into a hole that holds a sand bag.

“We investigated the incident and found that there was a leak in the sewer and the worker was lowered into a three-foot hole and when the shallow hole he did not wear a respirator.

A AMC official said the contractor was fined Rs 25,000 and had been issued a show notice.
“We welcome the action of the Civic body against the contractor.
We also asked the civil entity to provide safety equipment to workers,” said Parsottam Varhela, Manav Director Garima Trust.
