Working to make a large tax portal: Infosys CEO of Salil Parekh
Written by news2in

Bengaluru: Infosys has regained the status of the Bellwether in the Indian IT industry.
The level of income growth has become the fastest among peers for a few quarters.
The share price rose 80% in one year.
CEO of Salil Parekh, has conveyed the three-year transformation he promised when he took over in 2018.
In exclusive interactions with TOI, Parekh talked about what made a difference: infosys better than almost all colleagues.
Do you think the key? The key element has brought together all the ability of infosys – what we call ‘one infoscus’.
And there are certain elements, such as the Cloud Service we offer Cobalt, where we are far before our colleagues.
Almost every new work we started to have some elements of Kobalt, which has 200 industrial templates and 14,000 cloud assets.
Our focus is also very close to clients.
Can you describe one infosus? Soft, and difficult for us to explain.
But what it does, the whole company works together in everything.
In many major transformation programs, these are all ability capabilities that come together to make a difference, unlike before, when only some elements will exist.
The good part is, in Infosys, we have lead capabilities in 8 or 9 areas that require us to make this work.
And in digital, we have lead capabilities around 30 areas, throughout the cloud, data and analytics, AI, automation, cybersecurity, IoT.
Does Mega (more than $ 1 billion) handle upcycle show signs of saturation? We have in our large vocabulary all above $ 50 million, and that’s what we talked about.
We saw a good pipe from it.
What you call mega transactions, the periodicity is different.
On an annual basis, we see a good pipe.
We have been lucky that the client has seen us to provide more work.
Digital transformation occurs even before a pandemic.
But since then, even those who are behind in it, want to catch up.
This is a great modernization effort.
How big is worry about friction to you? Compared to the industry, we are at the bottom of the friction rate.
It has not affected work with our clients because of the massive inflows of new talents.
We have also put a lot of actions to deal with friction – the way we connect with our employees, our compensation plans, our focus program on different skills.
Freshly fresh salary almost didn’t move beyond the 3.5 lakh sign for years …
last year, that’s where we were.
At this stage, there is no change.
But there are significant changes to other levels.
There continued to be a lot of criticism around the incidence of income tax portal …
many fields that require attention at first, we have spent time on many things and they work well today.
We work collaboratively with the department, with the CAS association, and with a group of individual taxpayers, to ensure we created a great new experience.
