Belgrade: Indian boxer Nishant Dev (71kg) and Sanjeet (92kg) made the quarter-finals of the Aiba World Championship following an impressive victory in the last 16 stage battles here.
Nishant beat Marco Alvarez Verde Mexico 3-2 at night on Sunday to set up clashes with Russian Vadim Musaev.
Sanjeet, quarter finalists from the previous edition, got the better Georgia Tchigladze 4-1 better to enter the last eight stages for the second time in a row.
He will face Aziz Abbes Mohiiidine Italy.
Then tonight, Rohit Mor (57kg), Akash Sangwan (67kg), Sumit (75kg) and five times the Asian Medal Shiva Thapa (63.5kg) will look for a safe quarter-final place.
Rohit will face Temazhanov Kazakhstan Serik, while Akash will fight Kevin Brown Cuba.
Sumit will also fight Cuba in Yoenlis Hernandez.
Thapa will fight with the French lounge Hamraoui.
The golden winner in the showpiece will run away with a prize of USD 100,000.
The silver medalist must be given USD 50,000, and both bronze medalists will be given by USD 25,000.
