World Economic Forum: Modi Calls Make the Life Mission of Global Mass Movement to Fight Climate Change

New Delhi: Underpointing the importance of changes in lifestyle as an important tool for fighting climate change, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appealed to world leaders to make Mission Life (lifestyle for the environment) – Calls provided by India at the UN Climate Conference (COP26 )) In Glasgow last year – “global mass movement”, and established the ‘Pro Planet People’ (P-3) approach for a sustainable future.
“We must accept that our lifestyle is a big challenge for the climate.
Disposter culture and consumerism has changed (problem) Climate change is far more serious,” Modi said while almost overcoming the World Economic Forum (WEF).
He also emphasizes the needs of the world to move quickly towards “circular economics” for sustainable growth.
His comments are reminders for developed countries for their wasteful lifestyles that lead to waste of high resources and emissions.
India has long encouraged lifestyle changes to deal with the threat of climate change, noting how wasteful spending and high energy consumption in rich countries caused historical emissions that create current global warming problems.
In his speech to world leaders who joined the forum virtually, Modi at the same time underlined Indian sustainable efforts to deal with the problem and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to go for ‘zero zero’ (emissions) in 2070 – the promise he had made When greeting COP26 at Glasgow, England in November last year.
Modi said India well on track to fulfill all of His promises.
Citing an example, he said the country had reached one of the objectives of the Parisya has 40% of non-fossil fuels (renewable and nuclear energy) nine years before the deadline of 2030.
Other world leaders also refer to the problem of climate change when handling WEF.
The Secretary General of the United Nations (Ungs) Antonio Guterres in his speech asked the leaders to choose higher mitigation ambitions to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, note that current collective appointments from countries are not enough to save the world of disasters.
Consequences of climate change.
“Emissions must fall, but they continue to increase.
Coal power plants soar towards a record all time.
Even if all developed countries keep their promises to drastically reduce emissions by 2030 and all developing countries achieve nationally determined contributions (NDCs ) As written, global emissions will still be too high to maintain the purpose of 1.5 degrees Celsius within reach, “he said.
Fractions also talk about the need to support developing countries for real climate action.
He said, “To help the main economy that emerged to accelerate the transition, I called for the creation of the state coalition, public and private financial institutions, investment funds, and companies with the knowledge of technology targeted for each country that needed help.” In this case, he said, priority The first must be a phase-out of the coal target.
“There are no new coal plants that must be built,” said Guterres.
