World No Tobacco Day 2021: Harsh Vardhan leads Vow to Eliminate tobacco

NEW DELHI: Union health Ministry Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday Directed the pledge to Stay from Tobacco in the Event of’World No Tobacco Day’ 2021.

The subject of this”World No Tobacco Day” 2021 is”Commit to Quit”.
“The folks who smoke cigarettes may confront more complications of Covid-19 that may even cause their deaths,” They confront 40 percent to 50 percent additional risk because of this habit,” he advised.
He explained that”almost 1.
3 million deaths have been listed in the nation due to the usage of tambaku (tobacco) including the price on the market caused by health complications in using tambaku numbers to 1 percent of GDP.
” Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi headed the national movement against the menace of all e-cigarettes, he explained.
“Because of persistent attempts of Central Government and State Authorities, the incidence of tobacco usage has decreased by six percentage points in 34.
6 percent in 2009-10 to 28.
6 percent in 2016-17,” he further added.
“Toll-Free quitline services can be found in 16 languages today.
I appeal to individuals to modify their behaviour and stop tobacco use,” Vardhan stated.
World Health Organisation (WHO) has given Dr Harsh Vardhan together with’WHO Director-General Special Recognition Award’ for his achievements in the field of tobacco control.
