WTI releases Rs1 lakh Help for kin of All Covid Sufferers from Woods dept

Nagpur: At that time when most households are trying to come to terms following the loss of the near and loved ones because of Covid-19, the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), an NGO working for wildlife conservation in and around protected areas (PAs), published an ex-gratia of Rs1 lakh per to next-of-kin of six temporary and permanent employees of forest division who died as a result of virus.
“The ex-gratia has been paid to households of Covid-19 deceased employees below the mind’Conservation Heroes Covid Casualty Fund-2021′ where a supply of Rs1 lakh was made.
A scroll of honor about their participation will also be provided to the families of those people who have passed out because of Covid,” explained Vivek Menon, executive director and CEO of WTI.
Of those six Covid sufferers, three are out of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), Chandrapur, along with 3 out of Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR) from Gondia and Bhandara districts.
The NGO has provided help to the office employees of their PAs.
By NNTR, households of Naresh Gahane, a clerk, Suresh Lanjewar along with Moreshwar Walke, the two daily wage labourers, have profited.
By TATR, households of daily wage employees Pravin Akojwar (45) and also Patru Kinnake (59), also woods shield Chandrakant Gajbhe (57) were supplied the help.
“Last month, WTI introduced Rs1 lakh each to the kin of 3 woods labourers that have been charred to death when extinguishing forest fires indoors Nagzira at April.
In any case, the family members of a deceased daily bet from Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) was also paid an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh.
He also had expired while dousing woods fires adjacent Nagzira,” explained Prafulla Bhamburkar, WTI adviser, Maharashtra.
Bhamburkar reported the NGO has introduced cash to kin of over 50 Covid sufferers in the nation.
In Maharashtra, 130 deaths because of Covid-19 have already been reported among frontline employees and 20 one of 20 clerical personnel.
