Tunis (Tunisia): Indian table tennis player G Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai reached the men’s doubles final from WTT Contender Tunis after beating Nandor Ecseki and Adam Szudi 3-2 on Friday.
Sathiyan and Harmeet registered their spectacular chest victory, getting better than the Hungarian couple 8-11 12-14 11-9 11-8 11-9 in the semi-final clash.
The Indian duo will face Emmanual Lebesson and Alexandre Cassin from France in the final.
In multiple mixed events, Sathiyan was paired with the Top-rated Batra Mansika Mansika Paddler.
The Indian duo lost 2-3 to the French combination of Emmanual Lebesson and Jia Nan Yuan in the nearest semifinals.
Sathiyan and Manica advanced to two lead games but lost momentum to concede matches 11-7 11-9 6-11 9-11 9-11.
Sathiyan also went down in the match directly against Dang Qiu in the men’s singles quarter-final.
