Mumbai: The first list of achievements at City Colleges which was released on Tuesday brought a little enthusiasm for thousands of students with a score of 90% + as sought after college closed more than 94-95% for the humanities and the well-funded courses.
In comparison, Cutoff in this course rose 2-8% from the previous year.
Interestingly, Cutoff for plain vanilla science also rose more than 25% in several city universities.
Because the exam on the entire board was called during the second wave of Covid, the results were based on internal assessments by universities combined with class X scores.
Students scored 90% and above rose drastically through the board.
The CBSE registered an increase of almost 40% in 90% goal scorer in Maharashtra, while among the State Council students, the number rose more than 1100%.
At St Xavier’s College, FYBA reception on the first list closed at 98% for HSC students and 99.2% for students from other boards, and in Mithibai, closed at 97.5%.
Cutoff for Arts at Ramnarain Ruia College was 96.2%, compared to last year’s 90.3%.
Jai Hind also has a 96.2% cutoff for art.
Eleven students in St Xavier with a score of 99.2% and 100% chair bags in the first list of achievements from other boards, including two percentages.
The chair was thrown into students from other colleges after in-house reception.
Principal Rajendra Shinde said, “We have reached historic heights.
Tons of applications have been poured out.” On campus, 292 FYBA seats have been taken by in-house candidates, leaving 50 seats for outsiders, which are distributed as 40% for Board students HSC and 60% for those from other boards.
In the course financed itself, such as BMS, BCOM (Account and Finance), BAF and even mass media programs, Top-Rung colleges have a cutoff 94-97%.
“Cutoff is not possible to drop significantly in the next round, making it difficult for students even with 95% to enter their chosen college,” said NM College Principal Parag Ajgaonkar.
Cutoff BSC in Mithibai and Wilson rose more than 25% compared to last year.
The first list at Wilson closed at 90.3% compared to 64% last year, and in Mithibai, Cutoff rose from 55% to 84%.
The main principle of Mithibai Krutika Desai said Science students may have secured acceptance in college due to the delay in entry and uncertainty tests.
“Also because of a pandemic, many students now have interest in science,” he added.
Because psychology is a popular course among art students, the university was encouraged to start award program in BSC (Psychology), Cutoff which became 95%, he said.
In Hind Jai, Cutoffs are similar to previous years.
“Two things have played: Our entrance exam has normalized the scores that are increasing and second, we receive fewer application forms this year – more than 5,000,” said the Principal of Ashok Wadia.
Ruia College Principal Anushree Lurch says Cutoff can fall in the second list, but it won’t be significant.
He said the score, however, had risen because of a new tagging system, was relative.
The only difference now is that there are more 90% of goalscorers who might not get chairs in their chosen colleges, “said the Lurch.
In the BSC Allied BSC program, computer science has seen a 9% increase in Cutoff on campus, given the request for the course has been Take a pandemic, he said.
