Xiaomi may bring world’s first TV with 48MP dual cameras in China

It seems like the camera war is slowly going to move on from the smartphone market to the smart TV market.
Chinese consumer technology brand Xiaomi has been among the brands that tries to win at the specs war on each front, and cameras in smart TVs could be its next goal.
According to a report by GizmoChina, Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship Mi TV 6 — that the company will soon launch in its home country — will sport 48MP dual cameras.
If this happens, this will make the Xiaomi Mi TV 6 world’s first TV to do so.
The report includes what appears to be a poster showing the popup selfie camera.
Needless to say, this camera should assist in video calls — personal or work — or interactive games or for guidance for fitness regimes.
Xiaomi Mi TV 6: What we know so farPrevious rumours about the MI TV 6 have suggested that it will offer 4.2.2 surround sound with spatial audio.
Also, it is touted to come equipped with 100W built-in speakers.
The Mi TV 6 is said to feature QLED Quantum Dot technology with Dolby Vision IQ.
This feature is claimed to enable TV to automatically adjust to ambient light.
The launch of the Mi TV 6 is set to take place in China on June 28 and there is no word on whether or not it will come to Indian market.
Camera support on TVs: Trend in IndiaSmart TVs with in-built cameras have been around for a while, but the functionality hasn’t gone mainstream yet.
However, it does appear to be catching on as recently both OnePlus and Xiaomi announced detachable webcams designed specifically for TVs in India.
While the OnePlus TV camera was launched at Rs 2,499, the Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam has been priced at Rs 1,999.
Both cameras offer support for wide angle video and photos with fullHD resolution.
The two also have noise cancelling microphones and a slider for privacy.
