Remember the place? Four-legged robot made by Dynamics Boston that appears and behaves like a pet protective dog.
Well, Xiaomi has now introduced a similar robot and calls it Cyberdog.
Xiaomi did not have a direct plan to produce Cyberdog and at first it would make only 1000 units available for “Xiaomi fans, engineers, and robot fans” at a cost of 9,999 yuan translated to around Rs 1.15 lakh.
It was a very less price compared to the cost of a place that reached $ 74,500.
Cyberdog is packed with many software capabilities and hardware but what can you do with it? Xiaomi has not yet mentioned the purpose of launching a robot dog and hopes that 1000 initial users will “encourage the development and potential of four-legged robots”.
As for Cyberdog, you can think of it as a pet.
Should follow voice commands, follow you around and behave like a dog.
There is no information about whether it will bark or not.
After saying that, Cyberdog doesn’t look like a funny pet to have and in fact his appearance is quite scary.
But the good part is that it won’t bite you and you can expect it to be a very good guard dog who doesn’t need food or sleep.
Cyberdog can run at speeds of up to 3.2M / s and weighs 3kg.
You can make it to do backflips without offering any prize! The brain is powered by the Jetson Xavier AI Nvidia platform and comes with a camera, sensor, GPS module, the camera sensing depth of Intel Realsense D450 and an ultra-wide corner fisheye lens.
Cyberdog may have many eyes to look after you but no technology available today that can provide cyberdog indra smell.
“Cyberdog can analyze its environment in real-time, creating a navigation map, plot the aim, and avoiding obstacles.
Coupled with human posture and facial recognition tracking, Cyberdog is able to follow the owner and races around the barrier,” Xiaomi said in a press release.
The robot is equipped with three type-C USB ports along with the HDMI port.
You can attach a lidar sensor, more cameras and lights.
