Yaas Could spare Kolkata, Struck land in Balasore

KOLKATA/NEW DELHI: Cyclone Yaas, that is bearing down Bengal and Odisha in the Bay of Bengal, is very likely to spare the south east Bengal shore and lash the Balasore shore in Odisha — 240 kilometers from Kolkata — May 26 noon having a thunderous end speed of 155-165 mph, the Met department said on Monday. Home minister Amit Shah analyzed the preparedness for the cyclone using the primary ministers of both Odisha, both West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh and also LG of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and requested them to guarantee power copy in most Covid-19 care centers, labs and vaccine cold sockets, aside from hunting security of about a dozen oxygen production plants dotting the southern shore.
