Yaas Cyclone: Patna reels out of power outages

PATNA: The effects of cyclone Yaas has been sensed on Thursday day when heavy rain lashed Patna.

Heavy rain continues to be predicted from the state capital on Friday.
As a consequence of the showers, many areas of the town, including the posh localities, reeled from electricity outages and waterlogging.
The rain brought trees crashing down in some places, but no significant casualty or damage was recorded.
District magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh along with a group of officials went to a surprise trip to various places.
They assessed in case the sump homes and sewage lines were prepared to handle waterlogging issues.
Patna Municipal Corporation’s public relations officer (PRO) Harshita asserted the human body had identified that the localities likely to waterlogging.
“Instruments have, thus, been set up in these regions to pump rainwater out,” she added.
Chandra Bhushan Kumar, PRO of the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation that oversees sump homes in town, explained,”Engineers are deployed in the houses to be certain all pumps operate nicely.
” Meanwhile, the Patna divisional forest officer Ruchi Singh informed this reporter that two trees, that fell close to the airport and also the Digha Ghat, was cleared by three groups.
Critics of this disaster management division also pointed out the several groups of the National Disaster Response Force and the State Disaster Response Force was roped in for handling crisis conditions.
Considering the electricity outages, Dilip Kumar, general director of their Patna Electric Supply Undertaking, responded,”Though we’ve been requested to provide electricity to hospitals and suburban homes on a priority basiswe assured that electricity was revived in various localities whenever possible on Thursday.
” Phulwarisharif resident Shad Azmi, who’s a theoretical physicistwho waited long for the rain to cease.
“I needed to get medications to my brother out of a nearby shop.
I don’t understand just what to do,” he believed amid the heavy rain.
